The Positions: 

Human Resources/Operations & Administrative Coordinator

The Human Resource Contractor is responsible for establishing and maintaining The Root’s human resource strategy, policy and plan that will assist in creating an environment, within The Root, that is productive and supportive for employees and volunteers. The Root’s Human Resource person will ensure that policies and procedures are understood and adhered to by all employees and volunteers from the hiring and onboarding process through separation from the organization.


The Operations and Administration Coordinator is the primary point person for tasks related to The Root’s operations and administrative functions. The Operations and Administration Coordinator will work closely with staff and volunteers to do the daily work of the organization.

Communications Director

The Communications Director position is the primary point person for tasks related to The Root’s communications. We believe that relationship building is key to all effective movement building and change work, and that communications and organizing go hand in hand. The Communications Director will work closely with the Program coordinators, Executive Director and The Development Director to do the daily work of the organization.

Youth 4 Change, Youth Coordinator

The Youth 4 Change Coordinator is responsible for the facilitation and coordination of the Youth 4 Change program as well as the point person for tasks related to youth specific engagement, communications and opportunities. We are seeking a Youth 25 years or younger for the position.
